This new alert system empowers notaries with information so that they can catch fraudulent activity early. In doing so, this helps safeguard our entire community from property fraud and related scams.
Once enrolled, notaries can choose to receive alerts whenever a document is recorded in Porter County that includes their names as the notary. Each alert includes the document number, document type, and parties involved, making it easy to identify suspicious filings at a glance. With this alert system, notaries are no longer in the dark – they are part of the frontline defense.
